Democratizing Decarbonization

We built Tellus to make decarbonization possible for every team—not just the Fortune 50. Our platform turns emissions data into decarbonization pathways, so companies can reduce emissions, ensure compliance and make concrete progress toward a lower carbon future.

About Tellus

At Tellus, our goal is to enable meaningful emissions reductions by the broadest group of companies to improve the health of our planet.   Most platforms were built for the largest enterprises, so Tellus created a comprehensive solution with intuitive workflows purpose-built for lean sustainability teams.  Our platform goes beyond mere emissions inventory and reporting, and enables concrete climate action through our integrated digital marketplaces.  For the first time, decarbonization within clicks is possible.

Our name comes from Tellus, Latin for Earth, the planet we’re working to restore.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Tellus different from other enterprise decarbonization platforms?

Tellus isn’t just a planning or reporting tool. It’s the only platform that embeds direct digital access to clean power and carbon credit marketplaces within your emissions management workflow. This empowers teams to move from inventory to action in a single system.

Do we really save time and headcount by using Tellus?

Yes. Our integrated workflow supports your emissions collections through to analytics, planning, purchasing, and reporting. This eliminates manual hand-offs and data errors. Customers have specifically praised its simplicity and seamless UI, noting that no other tools offer this level of direct action.

How does Tellus support regulatory reporting and compliance?

Tellus centralizes emissions inventory, analytics, planning, and reporting - all tailored to key global regulatory requirements. Our platform currently provides emissions inventory for your operations in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK, with reporting necessary for compliance with US / California and Australian laws and standards. We are constantly expanding our global coverage as regulations evolve, so you can efficiently meet your regulatory obligations.

What’s unique and important about the Tellus marketplaces?

Tellus began by building our marketplaces for clean power (Tellus PPA) and carbon credits and RECs (Tellus Carbon) before we built emissions management (Tellus Sustain). These are true electronic marketplaces, with end-to-end digital workflows, unlike most of our competitors that are mere partner networks. They have significant high quality sell side liquidity, so you can transact today. Both are operational in the US, with expansion of Tellus Carbon to Australia expected in 2026.

How quickly can we go from onboarding to executing our first clean-power purchase or carbon credit transaction?

Tellus has a fully online onboarding process that can be completed in under an hour. The duration of marketplace transactions will vary depending on the parties, with carbon credit or REC purchases typically completed in days, and clean power purchases in weeks.

Are there hidden fees or broker costs when purchasing power or credits through Tellus?

No. Tellus provides transparent, broker-free access to both clean power and carbon credit markets. That means no middleman markups, just straight-through procurement within clicks.

How does Tellus protect its intellectual property?

Tellus has always been proactive in creating and protecting its intellectual property. Tellus uses both copyright and trademark protection for its written and digital materials. Further, the Tellus platform is protected by issued and pending patents.

We’re building out our sustainability function. Can Tellus help us get started?

Absolutely. Many enterprise sustainability teams are newly formed and under intense pressure. Tellus offers consulting support while simplifying action with our technology. This links sustainability planning to real action, minimizing ramp-up time and reducing operational complexity.
